About Nathan

Nathan grew up in Pawnee, Oklahoma before attending the University of Arkansas where he studied accounting and finance. It was also at the U of A where Nathan met Jessie, a native of Grapevine, Texas. Nathan and Jessie began their married life in Raleigh, NC as Nathan obtained an M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Jessie worked as a nurse for Duke University Hospital – Raleigh. In September 2021, on a visit to Salt Lake City, the Brocks felt a desire to plant their lives and ministries in Utah. In March 2022, Nathan and Jessie settled into the Northern Utah region and started the process of planting Redemption Church – North Davis.

About Redemption Church – North Davis

In October 2022, a core team of 30 people (adults and kids) began meeting on Sunday nights with the prayer of launching a new church in Kaysville, Utah. Kaysville is a suburb of Salt Lake City with an estimate population of 33,000. The dominant cultural, religious, and political influence in Kaysville is the “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”. Between 90-95% of people in Kaysville are members of the “LDS” or “Mormon” church. There are 75 LDS Wards (the LDS name for church) in Kaysville and only 3 non-LDS churches in total… The estimated number of people in an Evangelical worship service of any sort on a Sunday is around 250 people, 0.7% of the population.

Before Redemption North Davis started public worship gatherings, there were zero Southern Baptist Churches in Kaysville… Kaysville needed a local church teaching the Bible and preaching the Gospel. On April 9, 2023, Redemption North Davis launched public worship gatherings. By God’s grace, the Gospel light is growing in this spiritually dark place. As of January 2024, the church averages attendance between 70 and 80 people. The church has affirmed 2 pastors to shepherd them. A handful of people have been baptized. And a middle-aged LDS man has left the Mormon church because he heard the true Gospel preached and believed it! Redemption North Davis continues to pray that God will turn the people of this city to grace.

Kevin Godin

Redeemer Church, Broomfield, CO

About Kevin

Kevin was born and raised in Texas to wonderfully committed Christian parents, and he came to faith at an early age. During a summer camp in his middle school years, he felt called to serve as an overseas missionary. With that calling in mind, he received his BA in Church Ministries from Hardin-Simmons University in 1997. That summer, he married his best friend, Brigitte. In 2003, Kevin received his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the following year he and Brigitte were appointed as missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB). Together, they served as church planters in East Asia for eleven years. After permanently returning to the US in 2015 and briefly working as a manager at Chick-fil-A, Kevin was invited to serve on staff as an associate pastor with FBC Mustang (OK). After serving there for five years, he and Brigitte had a strong desire to start a biblically faithful church where one was desperately needed. In early 2022, their family moved to the Denver Metro area to explore exactly where they should plant their lives, and they ultimately decided to move to Broomfield with the goal of starting Redeemer Church Colorado.

About Kelsey

My name is Kelsey and I live and serve in Poland. I’m from Florida, and prior to moving overseas I worked as the BCM Associate in Pensacola, where I had the joy of serving college students. I currently serve in my local Polish church, help manage weekly English Club meetings for university students, and study Polish. My favorite part of my job is being able to meet with the college girls and read the Bible with them. Most of them are not believers, but they are willing to meet and want to learn more about the Bible. So, I love being able to read with them and share Jesus with them. Please continue to pray that these students will hear the Gospel and make a decision to follow Jesus!

This year, our team has a goal of gathering 1,000 prayer partners to specifically pray for our university ministry. We are starting a Signal messaging group where we plan to send out weekly requests with names of students, events and times you can be praying. (You must download the Signal app on your phone to get these updates.) To join, click here.
